Last updated: March 26, 2025
Your privacy is important to us. At Meal Planner, we do not sell your data or track you across other apps or websites. The content you add is yours, and we treat it with care and respect. However, to make certain features work, some data processing is necessary.
This page outlines what kind of personal information might be processed when using Meal Planner, and how that data is handled.
⚠️ Note: This document is intended as a simple and transparent explanation. For legal details, please refer to our full Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, and Data Processing Agreement.
📥 When Downloading the App
If you download Meal Planner from the App Store or Google Play, your basic information (like username or email) may be processed by those platforms. This is handled entirely by Apple or Google and is beyond our control.
📱 When Using the App
You can add notes, text entries, and photos from your camera or gallery in Meal Planner. These may include personal data like names, meal ideas, or other sensitive content.
- If you’re not signed in, your data is saved locally on your device and never leaves it.
- If you log in, your data is securely stored on our private server (powered by Parse) and used to keep your content synced across your devices.
☁️ Syncing Between Devices
We use our own backend, built on Parse Server, to sync your content (texts, photos, etc.) between your devices once you’re logged in. We only use your email address for authentication and data linking across devices.
🤖 AI Features (Experimental)
Meal Planner is testing AI-powered features using OpenAI. If you choose to try them, some of your data may be shared with OpenAI to generate suggestions or responses.
You will always be asked to accept terms before using these features. We do not use AI to process your data unless you activate it.
📊 Anonymous Analytics
We collect limited anonymous data using Firebase to help us improve the app and understand how it’s used. This includes performance metrics, crash reports, and feature usage – none of which can identify you.
You can disable analytics at any time in the app settings: Settings > Privacy & Permissions > Analytics > Disable
🛠️ Diagnostic Reports
When you report a problem, we might ask for diagnostic data to help us troubleshoot. These reports can include logs and technical information, some of which may contain parts of your app data.
All diagnostic info is used only to resolve your issue and is never shared with third parties. Some data, such as task titles, may be encrypted for added protection.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact our support team. You’re always in control of your data in Meal Planner.
